Our Mission

We desire to strengthen first responders to help them deal with the daily issues and stressors the job brings with it. Honoring the Heroes finds and identifies those first responders that could benefit from a pick me up. We provide a tactical backpack filled with resources for mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

We believe that if we strengthen the first responder it will, in turn, strengthen the entire community.

Supporting First Responders

A message from SFC Ryan Jones, Founder

As I was retiring from the Army, I realized there were many programs and resources to help military veterans, but scant few for our law enforcement and firefighting friends. After a conversation with my pastor, we decided instead of just complaining about a lack of resources we should try to help. Honoring The Heroes was born out of a necessity to help first responders with their mental emotional and spiritual health.

Why We Donate Tactical Backpacks

We decided that we wanted to give first responders a tactical backpack because most departments do not provide a backpack for personal stuff, including laptops. We wanted the backpack to be nice enough that it could be used for daily use, but also keep with the rugged, manly-man persona that comes with first responders. The resources that we chose inside the bag have been tried and tested by other first responders and have proven to be valuable resources across-the-board. We started by giving out backpacks to our local police and fire department , and quickly expanded to other areas in the Tampa Bay area and beyond.

When You Donate

100% of your donations go into Honoring The Heroes to provide the books and the tactical backpacks. Our partner authors have given us a discount price because they feel the mission field is so important to them. Also, after somebody receives a backpack we also try to connect them with a local group for support and camaraderie with like-minded individuals. Our goal is to get the resources needed to make better first responders which in turn will make better communities.

You can either donate to a specific individual, or you can donate to the general fund and we will send the bag to a deserving first responder.
